Thattu vadai set | Thattai set

Anyone who tastes this will definitely fall for the Salem Special Street food "Thattu Vadai set"

Thattai is a south Indian deep fried snack made with rice flour.

You can prepare the same with salt buiscuits like Monaco, 50-50.

I used very minimal ingredients here

Store bought Thattai - 10 pieces
Grated carrot - 1 cup
Finely chopped onion - 1/2 cup
Tomato chutney - 1/2 cup. ( You can use any left over chutney onion/tomato/mint/coriander)
Lemon - 1/2 squeezed (optional)
Chat masala - 1 pinch (optional)
Coriander leaves - 2 spoons finely chopped

Mix all ingredients except thattai.

In a plate place one thattai, 1/2 spoon chutney, Vegetables mix, top it with another thattai with chutney(chutney facing down).

Serve( aka gulp 😋) immediately.

Repeat the steps for remaining thattai.

You can add grated beetroots with carrot. I don have beetroot so skipped it.

This is simple urad dhal vadai...

Soak urad dhal for couple of hours. Drain water and grind in mixie without adding much water. Add chopped onion, green chilli, Curry leaves and salt.

Heat oil in a pan. In any cover(we use milk cover mostly) take out the batter in ball shape. Apply water in hands and flatten it and make a hole inside... Drop in hot oil cook till turns color on both sides. Do in medium flame.

If your uraddhal batter turns watery and not able to take out as ball in hands add little rice flour.

Capsicum Egg Burji 😋 will be ready under 15 mins and can be a wholesome meal as such 😁

Recipe as follows:

Ingredients

Capsicum - 1 big size cubed
Onion - 1 big size finely chopped
Tomato - 1 medium size finely chopped
Green chilli - 1 slitted
Curry leaves - few
Mustard - 1/4 tsp
Oil - 2 tsp.

In a pan add oil, once hot add mustard seeds.. add finely chopped onion, slitted green chilli, Curry leaves. Add a pinch of tumeric powder. Saute until onion turns translucent. Add finely chopped tomatoes and saute till tomatoes mushy. Add the cubed capsicum and saute till its almost cooked. Break two eggs on top of it and keep the flame on medium heat and close it and let it cook for two mins. Open the lid and slightly saute everything, don't saute very fast as eggs will be very scrambled. Cook till eggs are cooked.

For better results cook in non-stick ware. You can add red chilli powder instead of green chilli as well.
